What are we going to do?

Yoga - Meditation - Silent walks - Visiting sacred sites

Depart March 1 and return March 21, 2025.

What is the programme?

We arrive at Whitefield Bangalore, where we take time to acclimatise. At this place, we will visit the Ashram of master Sri Sathya Sai Baba several times a day where we will seek silence.We will visit Deviamma if possible, she is a saint, her heart is open, free of judgement, expectations and ego. She is incredibly wise and funny and it is very special to be with her.

After two days, we will travel to Tiruvannamalai, which is a place at the foot of the mountain 'the Arunachala'. This is one of India's sacred mountains and represents Shiva (the supreme). We start the next morning with the first yoga class (on the roof of the guesthouse) and then go to meditate at the Ashram of Sri Ramana Maharshi where we will practice meditation regularly twice a day. Sri Ramana is the founder of the 'Who Am I' meditation, the place invites you to start feeling the space in your heart. At sunrise, we can meditate on the Holy Mountain or go to the caves where Sri Ramana spent years doing his self-examination in silence and also lived. We will walk the "Girivalam" in silence, the pilgrimage from this region where at full moon more than 100,000 people experience the 14 km trek, this is done with or without shoes. At this location, there is Yoga every day in the morning.

There are travel days and some free days, where it is possible to swim, explore the area, book a wonderful massage or make an appointment with an Ayurvedic doctor, among other things.

After a week and a half, we will continue travelling to Auroville near Pondicherry by the sea. Yoga will be given twice a day at this place and meditation in the Matrimandir after the yoga session. An amazing place that cannot be described, you must have been there to understand it. This meditation temple and the entire village of Auroville was founded by philosopher Sri Aurobindo and The Mother, they worked from their Ashram in Pondicherry where we are also sure to visit.

Sri Sathya Sai Baba, Sri Ramana Maharshi and Sri Aurobindo along with The Mother are an inspiration to many and also to our yoga school. We will immerse and nourish ourselves with the wisdom and energy at these extraordinary masters and power places.

During the journey, it becomes possible to discover more and more what is on your mind. Giving space to conscious and unconscious thoughts/patterns, giving them the chance to be released. It is an inward journey in which you clear your system, so that you can then stand firmer and your heart opens up more.

The journey is magical and will touch you in deeper layers.

Accommodation, yoga classes and further (travel) guidance will be arranged by Ilona.

The price comes to €1250

Excludes airfare, food, accommodation and travel expenses within India.

Rooms can either be booked alone or that you share a room. ( this depends on the group size/ availability at the guesthouses).
