Yoga & Ayurveda

Discover the Deep Connection

Immerse yourself in the ancient wisdom of two complementary traditions: Yoga and Ayurveda. In this workshop, we will take Prem Heera, an experienced doctor who combines mainstream medicine with Ayurveda, and Hement Ghisyawan, a yoga teacher with more than 30 years of experience in traditional yoga practice, takes you on a journey of self-discovery and balance.

Harmony Between Body and Mind

During the workshop, we will explore the philosophical basis of Yoga and Ayurveda. You will discover how these two ancient systems complement and reinforce each other, and how they can help you create harmony between body and mind.

Understanding Your Constitution

Prior to the workshop, you will receive a short test to help you understand your Ayurvedic constitution. This will give you valuable information about your unique needs in terms of nutrition, lifestyle, yoga, pranayama and meditation. During the workshop, pulse diagnostics will also be demonstrated, giving you a deeper understanding of your own body type and how to apply these insights in your daily life.

Deeper Connection

By the end of the workshop, you will not only have a better understanding of the essence of Ayurveda and its relationship with Yoga, but also concrete tools to take steps towards a life of well-being and balance. You will learn how to tailor a yoga practice to your own unique needs and constitution.

Prem Heera is a regular doctor, lifestyle doctor and Ayurvedic doctor, with a specialisation in "Healthy Ageing"and anti-aging naturally.

He is the author of the book "Ayurveda in Western Practice", which bridges the gap between the Ayurvedic approach to health and Western medicine.

This book consists of three parts:

  1. The philosophy of Ayurveda: The first volume offers insights into the Ayurvedic view of health and well-being, and explains how this ancient wisdom can help us live a healthy life.
  2. Common complaints: The second part deals with various everyday complaints such as sore throats, headaches, high blood pressure and menstrual cramps. Prem Heera offers natural, Ayurvedic solutions to these common health problems.
  3. Beauty inside and out: The third part explores the relationship between inner and outer beauty and how Ayurveda can contribute to a holistic approach to grooming. Ayurvedic grooming products are also discussed.

The book offers not only practical tips for healthy living, but also pointers to right food, natural (Ayurvedic) remedies and yoga postures. It constitutes a complete guide to integrating Ayurvedic philosophy of life into your daily routine, and how to combine it with mainstream medicine for optimal well-being.

Hement Ghisyawan

For me, yoga is a science through which you discover who you are, what you want to be and how to achieve it. It offers tools from emotional, social, physical, mental and spiritual perspectives, so that you interact more consciously with yourself, others and your environment.

Natural process
For me, yoga feels like a natural part of life, not an accidental choice. It is an integral aspect that expresses itself, consciously or unconsciously, in different forms. For me, it is not about how long I practice yoga, but how it develops into a personal way of life, connected to everyday life.

Sharing knowledge and experience
Over 30 years ago, I started practising Raja yoga. By following various yoga paths and training courses, including at Saswitha, I have deepened my knowledge. I regularly attend trainings in India to strengthen my practice.
In my yoga classes and workshops, I share these experiences so that others can apply them in their own development. This sharing enriches not only them, but also myself in my ongoing quest.
