Shamanism is a powerful tool for accessing information from the spiritual dimensions and a way to bring us back into balance with life and the harmony of nature. It can bring magic into our daily lives and enable us to see and feel what would otherwise remain hidden.
During my childhood in Greenland, I had the opportunity to experience the world of shamanism. There, I developed a deeply felt connection with Mother Earth, the Great Ice, the Eagles, the Whales and many other animals living in the Arctic. While meditating, I still evoke the intense silence of this beautiful part of the world.
Many years later, I was lucky enough to meet a shamanic elder from Greenland, Angaangaq Angakkorsuaq. Angaangaq is a shaman, traditional healer, storyteller and bearer of the Qilaut (wind drum), whose family belongs to the traditional healers of the High North from Kalaallit Nunaat, Greenland.
Since childhood, he was trained by his family - especially his grandmother Aanakasaa - as a shaman. The spiritual task his mother gave him is: "To melt the Ice in the Heart of Man". Angaangaq made me remember the beauty and power of shamanism and the drum; a beautiful and moving experience.
I now feel called to share the shamanic drum and magic. It is still a journey that is unfolding and deepening. The shamanic tradition is fully aligned with the yoga path as we propagate and practice it at Sai Mithra. For me, an extra 'piece of the puzzle'.
If you feel called to experience shamanic drum ceremonies, feel welcome to join me once a month on Sunday afternoons or Friday evenings. I hope to share the magic with you.
