A sadhana (Sanskrit: साधना) literally means: ‘that which you practise to achieve a goal’. In the yoga tradition, it is a personal, dedicated practice. Something you return to daily (or regularly) to get closer to yourself and the essence. It doesn't have to be grand or complicated. Think meditation, pranayama, mantra, asana, journaling. Or just a few minutes of silence. But how do you find a form that suits you? And how do you make sure it is not just a good intention?

In this workshop, we will first look at what the yoga scriptures say about sadhana. What do they mean by discipline? What is devotion? Why are repetition and consistency important? Then we go inward, through yoga postures and writing exercises. We explore: what underlies your desire? And what fits your life, your schedule and your energy? With these insights, you design your own sadhana. You go home with a clear, doable ritual that you can start with the very next day. Your way.

Bring your favourite pen, a nice book or notebook to write in. You can bring your own lunch or get it outside.

As we think it is important that everyone can participate, we offer this workshop on a dana (donation) basis. Dana does not mean ‘free’, but ‘giving according to capacity and according to value’. That is where the practice lies: giving with an open heart, from connection. In essence, dana says: we carry this together. So we invite you to take a moment and honestly feel what is an appropriate contribution for you for this day.
