'Mantras are sonic formulae that take us beyond, or through, the discursive faculties of the mind and connect our awareness directly and immediately to deep states of energy and consciousness.' Russill Paul, The Yoga of Sound
MANTRAYOGA
Walk-in from 18:45h, at Sai Mithra's premises
Primal Sanskrit language
The Vedic mantras have been handed down to us in writings, the Vedas.
These can be thought of as prayers for the well-being of everything that lives and a pure resource for becoming aware of your 'bliss'. We speak the mantras, recite them in three tones, whisper them and listen to them inwardly.
Experience the depth of resonance of this unfiltered, sacred speech.
Physical body = channel
Your physical body is a channel between earth and cosmos. Draw on those energies to get in touch with your energetic body. Your voice vibrates ancient sounds in your body. These set tension and rigidity in motion. Nourish yourself through the resonance of your own energy vibration.
Mantrayoga
As in asanas, mantra practice can open the portal to the chakras.
Tantric mantras are short sounds that carry energy, like the 'bijas'. Each chakra has its so-called 'seed mantra': by 'planting' these in your consciousness, awareness grows. We perform the bijas in a series to open, activate and purify the chakras.
The effect can be enhanced by combining them with appropriate asanas and mudras for each chakra.
The programme is tailored to the moment, the energy of the mantra and the group.
With attention to pronunciation, silence and relaxation.

About Daphne
As a yoga student of Ganga, I experienced the power of reciting mantras long ago. The deep AUM sound helped me tremendously with the births of my children.
Since 2018, I have been taking mantra training from scholar and performer Russill Paul in collaboration with the Centrum voor Tantra in Amsterdam. After an intensive Sound of Yoga week, I started a year-long training in Vedic mantras. Last year, I immersed myself in Tantric mantras. And this period is dedicated to integrating these currents, supplemented by the Nada and Bhakti currents.
